GUWAHATI, Nov 12 � The 67th Stag Sitaram Agarwala Inter District and State Table Tennis Championship was inaugurated at the Tarun Ram Phookan Indoor Stadium here today.

State Chief Secretary Jitesh Khosla formally declared the championship open in a well attend inaugural function. Commissioner Sports Ajay Tiwary, OIL DGM SK Rai and principal of Don Bosco Guwahati Fr Sebastian Mathew were also present on the occasion.

Inaugurating the championship, the Chief Secretary lauded the gesture of the Assam Table Tennis Association (ATTA) for working hard in order to bring back the past glory of the game in the State. He promised all possible help for developing table tennis in Assam along with other sporting activities.

ATTA secretary Tridib Duvarah welcomed the gathering and explained about the present activities of the ATTA.

District teams like Duliajan, N Lakhimpur, Namrup, Dibrugarh, Silchar, Jorhat, Sivasagar, Nazira, Golaghat, Nagaon, Mangaldai, NF Railway, Guwahati are participating in the championship.
