GUWAHATI, July 31 - Tamulpur dominated the inter district netball championship held at Changchari from July 25 to 27 winning junior boys and women titles respectively.

In the junior girls category final Tamulpur defeated Kamrup 19-12 while Kamrup clinched the boys title getting the better of Nazira 18-11. Both the teams were awarded Hiteswar Saikia Memorial Trophy. Manisha Boro of Tamulpur and Rakesh Boro of Kamrup were picked for the best player awards in the girls and boys sections respectively.

Tamulpur trounced Nazira 20-11 of the women�s crown and the Keshab Ch Dhekial Phukan Trophy. In the men�s category, for the Haren Baruah Trophy, Tinsukia edged past Guwahati 16-15 in the final.

Rupa Ghatowar of Nazira and Rituparna Saikia of Tinsukia received the best player awards in the women�s and men�s sections respectively.

The championship was organised by the Kamrup District Netball Association in collaboration with Assam Netball Association. Altogether 26 teams from 14 affiliated units of the State netball body took part in the meet, stated a release.
