GUWAHATI, April 30 The four-day final of the Elite Group Nuruddin Ahmed Trophy Senior Inter District Cricket Tournament will be played at the Nehru Stadium here from tomorrow.

Former champions NF Railway Sports Association will take on Silchar in the summit clash of the championship which will be hosted by Assam Cricket Association.

In the last group league match of the final round NF Railway topped the group with 11 points from three matches while Silchar came second with six points. However, NF Railway took a huge 546-run first innings lead against Silchar in the drawn match. The result may lower the spirit of the Silchar boys in the final. But considering the armour in their kitty, the Silchar team has the capacity to put up some challenge to their fancied opponent.

The Nehru Stadium wicket, prepared under the watchful eyes of curators Dr Sunil Baruah and Barsamangal Baruah, has been behaving tremendously well during the last couple of matches. Particularly the batsmen are finding it very suitable for executing shots. Three centuries and two 90s were scored during last two matches on this track.
