BISWANATH CHARIALI, Dec 3 - The husband and the in-laws of Debajani Dutta Borah (30) of Jaypur under Gohpur police station in Biswanath district were arrested last night by police in connection with the alleged murder of Debajani.
According to information available here, Debajani was severely beaten up by her husband Lava Borah following an altercation at night which left her senseless. A seriously injured Debajani was allegedly fed some pesticide by the husband and her father-in-law and the whole incident was covered up as an act of suicide. Later she was admitted to Gohpur FRU Hospital where the doctors declared her brought-dead.
On receiving the information, Debajani�s family members arrived at the spot and subsequently lodged a complaint with police. Police arrested Lava Borah, his father Amal Borah and his daughter Reena Saikia in this connection. On the other hand, a section of agitated villagers attacked Lava�s house and damaged their properties. However, police managed to control the situation.
