Hungarian envoy appreciates �soulful Sivasagar� initiative

SIVASAGAR, Nov 4 - The Ambassador of Hungary, Gyula Peth� and his wife arrived in Sivasagar for a day-long visit yesterday. On their arrival, Sivasagar Deputy Commissioner Dr MS Lakshmipriya extended a warm welcome at the Circuit House in the morning in the presence of Sivasagar Superintendent of Police Amitava Sinha.

The Hungarian guests visited some archaeological and tourism sites in and around the historic township like Rong Ghar, Talatal Ghar, Shiva Doul located at Na-Pukhuri, etc. They were accompanied by the Deputy Commissioner and other officials. Dr Lakshmipriya gave them an insight into the rich and vibrant historical, archaeological, tourism and cultural heritage of the district.

During the course of their discussion, the Deputy Commissioner apprised the Hungarian Ambassador about �Soulful Sivasagar�, a mission initiated under her leadership to usher in a huge transformation to the district tourism scenario. The Ambassador lauded her efforts covered under �Soulful Sivasagar� and also offered some suggestions in order to make the mission more fruitful. The Hungarian Ambassador and his wife were served ethnic and traditional cuisine during lunch at Rudrasagar. The couple was overwhelmed after savouring the local delicacies.

Before their departure to Kaziranga in the evening, the Hungarian Ambassador highly appreciated the hospitality of the district administration. Both the guests extended best wishes to the Deputy Commissioner and expressed their firm belief that the mission �Soulful Sivasagar� would be a grand success.
