DIPHU, Oct 12 � The Hills State Democratic Party (HSDP), while rejecting charges made against the party by the Chief Executive Member (CEM) of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council, Tuliram Ronghang, has accused the latter of deceiving the people of Karbi Anglong by making false promises of providing jobs. The CEM had earlier charged the HSDP of misleading the people of Karbi Anglong and Dima Hasao pertaining to the autonomous State issue.
Tuliram Ronghang, while addressing a Congress party rally at Bakalia mentioned that one-time ASDC-CPI (ML) misled the people and now the Joint Action Committee for Autonomous State (JACAS) is repeating the same act. Rebutting the CEM�s charges, HSDP pointed out that ASDC did its best for the people of Karbi Anglong and the people voted them to power with a decisive mandate. It said that it was due to the ASDC, which signed a tripartite MoU, which later became an Act, that more financial powers were given to the KAAC. The strongly-worded HSDP press communiqu� mentioned that the CEM made a false commitment to the people of Karbi Anglong.
