JAGIROAD, Aug 29 - The Kagaj Nigam Karmi Union of Nagaon Paper Mill, HPCL here will undertake a four-hour road blockade programme on National Highway-37 at the hospital gate under the mill premises on September 11 in support of their demands.
This was stated by the general secretary of KNKU, NPM Ananda Bordoloi in a press meet held here. The demands include revival of both the mills in Assam, namely Nagaon Paper Mill at Jagiroad in Morigaon district and Cachar Paper Mill at Panchgram in Karimganj district, release of pending monthly salaries and other statutory dues, etc.
It may be mentioned that the CPM and NPM were closed down on October 28, 2015 and March 13, 2017 respectively. The employees of CPM and NPM have not received their monthly salaries since January and March, 2017 respectively.
