Housing units under JnNURM handed over

GUWAHATI, May 26 � Under the first phase of the Basic Service to the Urban Poor (BSUP) segment of the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JnNURM), Juri Sarma Bordoloi, deputy chairperson of the Guwahati Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) recently handed over possession certificates to Harijan people for 55 housing units in a function held at Fatasil Ambari in the city.

Commissioner, GMC Puru Gupta and additional commissioner Mukul Gogoi were also present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, Bordoloi asked the beneficiaries to keep the surroundings and their homes neat and clean.

Under the BSUP, construction work is going on for 1,104 housing units and among them 352 units are ready for possession, mentioned a statement. The corporation is expecting to complete the construction work of the remaining units within the financial year 2012-13.
