Homecoming of DHD (Nunisa) on March 9

By CORRESPONDENT

HAFLONG, March 2 A grand home coming ceremony awaits the cadres of the Nunisa faction of the Dima Halam Daogah (DHD) who are set to join the national mainstream on March 9.

The ceremony, which is to be held at the District Sports Association ground in Haflong is the outcome of the memorandum of settlement signed with both the factions of DHD and the State and Central governments, on October 8, 2012. As per the MoS, the DHD is to be dissolved within six months of signing of the pact.

Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde, Governor JB Patnaik, Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi, Chief Executive Member Debojeet Thaosen, among others would attend the ceremony as guests of honour.

Meanwhile, Dilip Nunisa, Chairman of the Dima Halam Daogah, appealed to the people living in Dima Hasao to extend their much needed co-operation to them so that all the DHD members could find place in the society as responsible members.

The Dima Halam Daogah was formed in 1994 after the surrender of Dimasa National Security Force and in 2003 came for talks following appeals from the civil society societies and intellectuals.

Following the ceasefire, DHD had several rounds of talks with both Central and State governments with the demand of creation of Dima Raji State.
