GUWAHATI, June 8 - Education Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma today warned college teachers against any laxity and said that the Government would soon introduce the biometric system in colleges to ensure transparency in attendance.

In a meeting with the principals of colleges from across the State, the minister urged them to maintain proper academic ambience in colleges by desisting from taking part in politics.

Sarma also said that TET teachers would get their salaries on the seventh day of every month from now onwards.

However, he said that hollow grounds for transfer seeking home posting would not be entertained.

The minister said that he would personally write to more than three lakh teachers in the State, insisting on maintenance of proper guidelines.
