GUWAHATI, Dec 22 - BJP leader Himanta Biswa Sarma today filed a civil defamation case worth Rs 100 crore with the Court of Civil Judge (1), Kamrup (Metro) against Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi.
Sarma informed the media that he would also file a criminal defamation case against the CM soon.
Senior advocate Devajit Saikia and associates today filed the relevant papers before the court challenging the Chief Minister�s comment in the media that Sarma was an accused in both the Saradha and Louis Berger scams.
�While my client was just a witness in the Saradha scam as was mentioned in the chargesheet filed by the investigation agency in April 2015, in the Louis Berger scam, there was no mention of any officials being bribed by any minister from Assam,� Saikia said.
