Himanta campaigns for Queen Oja at Sualkuchi, Hajo

SUALKUCHI, April 19 - Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma, State Health minister, attended a series of election meetings at Sualkuchi, Bongshar, Dadara Hajo and Palasbari. Addressing those meetings, he called upon the people to vote for the BJP so that Narendra Modi is re-elected as the Prime Minister of India. He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi is a political heavyweight in the world and India under his leadership will take the top position among the developed countries.

Campaigning for Queen Oja, BJP candidate for Guwahati Lok Sabha seat, the minister said that the popularity of Narendra Modi has been increasing throughout the country and the people have supported his developmental agenda.

Criticizing the Congress party, he said that the Congress did nothing during its 55 years of rule but the BJP-led NDA government in its 5-year-term stepped up developmental works in Assam and the North East.

Regarding welfare schemes, Sarma said that every widow will get Rs 25,000 per year, students in degree classes will be provided free textbooks and the government will reimburse the admission fees of students. He added that on the occasion of completion of 75 years of India�s Independence, every family in the country will get a pucca house and in the Amar Ghar scheme, the government will provide Rs 2.5 lakh against a bank loan of Rs 15 lakh to the beneficiary. The minister added that the State government has allocated Rs 100 crore for the indigenous Muslim people.

Earlier the minister participated in road shows at Hajo and Palasbari with party workers.
