Himanta campaigns for Pabindra at Pathsala

PATACHARKUCHI, April 5 - Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma addressed a high-voltage election meeting this evening in favour of the AGP-BJP-BPF alliance candidate Pabindra Deka at Bhagabatikshetra, Pathsala in presence of a huge gathering.

With the gathering of a record number of people, Pathsala town witnessed a sea of humanity today. In his address, he appealed to the people of the constituency to vote for the BJP for a secured and all-round developed state so that it can be placed among the five top states of the nation. He promised the gathering to set up an engineering college at Bajali subdivision besides upgrading the subdivision into a district, if BJP comes to power.

He strongly criticized the Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi for his failure and predicted that Gogoi will face defeat in his own constituency this time. He said that people of Assam understood well the politics played by the Congress government by distributing yarn and blanket among the people but it will not yield any positive result for them this time.

He said that people want a change and want to put an end to the black era of underdevelopment perpetrated by the Congress-lead govt.

Sarma assured financial assistance of Rs 2 lakh each to the victims of diseases like cancer, kidney ailment and heart ailment after coming to power, and make arrangement of free education to poor meritorious students of the state. He termed AIUDF leader Badaruddin Ajmal as a black cloud over Assam�s sky and appealed to the people to defeat him at any cost. Earlier, Pabindra Deka also delivered a short speech in the meeting. Dr Sarma had reached the Bhagabatikshetra after a foot march from the temporary helipad at Bajali College playground.
