Himanta addresses BJP election rally near Rangiya

RANGIYA, Nov 28 - State Finance, PWD, and Health Minister, Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma addressed a BJP election rally here at Arimatta Mini Stadium at Tarani near Rangiya this afternoon.

Addressing the rally attended by hundreds of BJP party workers and supporters, the Minister spoke about the positive developments that have taken place under the BJP governments, both at the Centre and the State. Welfare schemes starting from Panchayat level have already been implemented and more new people-friendly schemes and projects are in the pipeline � all for the welfare of the people mainly focussing on rural upgradation.

The Minister also spoke about the progress made by his government in bringing in several welfare schemes starting from health, education, road to economic upgradation. He flayed the policies of the erstwhile Congress government as not being people-friendly and having lots of anomalies and corruption starting from the village level, which both the governments at the Centre and in the State have zero tolerance. � Our government has always thought for the goodwill of the people and the same has been reflected in development around the State � the Minister said assuring development in all the panchayats.

A PG course will be introduced at Rangiya College from the next academic session , a new law college will be set up, besides every effort will be made to bring up a full-fledged stadium here. Two more bridges will be constructed for better connectivity,� he said askingfor the people�s mandate in the ensuing panchayat polls here at all ZPs, APs and GPs under Rangiya. Mangaldai LS MP Ramen Deka also spoke on the occasion asking for people�s support and mandate. Local MLA of Rangiya and Minister of State for Irrigation and Revenue Bhabesh Kalita gave the welcome speech.

Electioneering in Rangiya has geared up with different political parties campaigning in full swing for the first phase of the polls on December 5.
