Himal clinches nat�l chess title

GUWAHATI, Sept 26 - Top seed Himal Gussain of Chandigarh clinched the title in the 25th National Youth U-25 Chess Championship being held in the Pragjyotish ITA Centre here, organised by the All Assam Chess Association on behalf of All India Chess Federation.

Himal Gussain remained unbeaten throughout the tournament and scored 7 points from 9 rounds. In the 9th and final round he was held to draw by Narayanan Karthikeyan by Tamil Nadu.

Chaitania Sairam Mogili of Andhra Pradesh scored 7 points and got second position. In the 9th and final round he beat Kumar S of Tamil Nadu. Bhatt Jalpan of Gujarat scored 6.5 points and got third position.
