TINSUKIA, Oct 19 - Himachal Pradesh recorded an 8-wicket victory against Assam in the Col CK Nayudu U-23 Cricket Tournament at the Katchujan Field here today.
Chasing a winning target of 195 runs, Himachal Pradesh completed the task in 41.2 overs losing only two wickets on the third day of the four-day contest. EC Sen and PS Khanduri remained unbeaten with 96 and 61 respectively.
Earlier, resuming their second innings at the overnight score of 68 for 2, Assam were all out for 232 runs in 86 overs. Major contributors for Assam in the second innings were Sajid Khan (56), Wasiqur Rahaman (57), Mrinmoy Dutta (31) and Sunzou Brahma (29). For Himachal Pradesh, AP Vashisht claimed 5 wickets giving away 84 runs.
