IMPHAL, Oct 16 - Manipur today recorded the highest single-day spike of 337 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the State�s total virus tally to 14,715. In the last 24 hours, five persons, including three females and two males, also expired at the Shija Hospital, Raj Medicity and the JNIMS, an official release stated. The COVID-19 toll has reached 109 in the State.
In the past 24 hours, 304 persons from the general population and 33 Central Armed Police Forces personnel were confirmed positive, the press release added. The new COVID-19 positive cases were confirmed at 24 testing facilities in the State.
The positive cases among the civilians are from 13 districts with Imphal East district having the maximum number (113) of them. Eight persons out of the general population are returnees from other States, while the rest are locals without any significant travel history.
