DULIAJAN, Oct 31 - In an operation against illegal narcotics racket, a joint team of Dibrugarh and Naharkatia police seized an LPG cylinder truck at Naharkatia on Saturday and recovered heroin worth more than Rs 5 lakh. Police also arrested two persons in this connection.
According to reports, the police team chased the truck from Dibrugarh after receiving an instruction from Dibrugarh Superintendent of Police Prateek Thube. He reportedly got the tip-off from a source in Dimapur.
After a long chase, a police team from Naharkatia Police Station led by officer in-charge Bhaskar Saikia along with the team of Dibrugarh police seized the vehicle at Naharkatia.
The police recovered approximately 33 grams of heroin from the peddlers. The police registered a case in this regard and arrested driver Satyajit Moran and helper of the truck Prahlad Borah.
