GUWAHATI, Feb 27 � As per notification issued on February 24, 2012, by SM Goswami, Secretary to the one-man commission, the parties desiring to contest the issue relating to the memoranda submitted before Justice SK Kar Commission regarding the incident that took place at Last Gate Area, Dispur on June 22, 2011, have been permitted to engage lawyers in order to permit their respective contentions to be represented in a disciplined way, an official release said.
�It may also be noted that every party contesting the issue would be permitted to cross-examine the witnesses of the other or opposite or rival parties by the services of the learned lawyers etc. Any other party or parties desiring to file memoranda may do so at their discretion within 30 to 45 days of
publication of the said notification.
The next date for hearing has been fixed on March 15, 2012.
All the concerned parties have also been requested to file in advance the list of witnesses to be examined by each of the parties in this context, the release added.
