HC stays order on Mahanta�s Z-plus security

GUWAHATI, Oct 28 � The Gauhati High Court after hearing a writ petition filed by Prafulla Kumar Mahanta, former Chief Minister today passed an interim order directing the Central government not to withdraw the Z-plus security coverage to Mahanta. The writ petition was filed by Mahanta challenging the withdrawal of his Z-plus security by the govt of India, Ministry of Home Affairs with effect from October 24, 2010.

Justice Anima Hazarika after hearing the writ petition today fixed the case for further hearing on November 8 and directed the Central government as well as the State government to file affidavits.
