GUWAHATI, May 11 � The Gauhati High Court Bar Association stated that there has not been any decision taken by the association not to defend NDFB chief Ranjan Daimary or any other accused and that any member of the Bar is free to accept any brief on behalf of any accused person.
An extraordinary general meeting of the association also reiterated that every accused person has the right to be defended under the Constitution of India, the release stated.
The meeting also condemned the alleged obstruction created by the police to a member of the association from entering the CJM Court premises on May 2 where the latter went to effectively defend his client Ranjan Daimary, a press release stated.
