HC admits PIL against Das probe panel

By Staff Reporter

GUWAHATI, Oct 5 - The Gauhati High Court today admitted a PIL against the Subhas Das inquiry committee probing the alleged anomalies in the APSC recruitment process.

The PIL (No. 106/2015) has been filed by RTI activist Okram Prasanta Singha.

The petition has prayed for quashing the Subhas Das inquiry committee report and a direction to the committee to re-inquire the matter as per definition of administrative inquiry given by the Supreme Court in Menaka Gandhi Vs Union of India (1978) case as well as according to the Prevention of Corruption Act 1988. It also sought a CBI inquiry into the APSC anomalies.

The petitioner said that the inquiry committee made the accused the APSC the judge of the inquiry, and that the committee didnt physically visit and collect answer-scripts, false/forged caste certificates, etc., as evidences from the APSC.
