By Staff Reporter

GUWAHATI, June 3 - In order to fulfil the mission of its spiritual master Bhaktivedanta Swami Srila Prabhupada, founder Acharya of the Worldwide Hare Krishna Movement that No one should go to hungry up to a 10-km radius of its temple, the Hare Krishna Movement here has launched a programme titled Pure for Cure in which it serves hot and nutritious meals to the underprivileged families across the city.

The meal is prepared with full cleanliness and in a completely hygienic way and is served in vessels which retain the temperature of the food for eight hours. We serve this food in government hospitals, schools, orphanages, homes for the specially able and old-age homes, besides railway tracks and slums like Harijan Basti and many more such locations of the city where people live in adverse situations, Vijay Pandit Dasa of Hare Krishna Movement said.

The Movement also invites people to come as volunteers to serve food and spread the message about the charity. We also invite people to sponsor prasadam in different locations on their birthdays, anniversaries and other special occasions. This distribution has been going on for the last one month, in which we have distributed food in around 25 localities across Guwahati serving more than 5,000 meals, he said.
