DIPHU, Aug 13 - Based on specific information, the Army and Karbi Anglong Police arrested a senior leader of a newly-floated militant organisation, Dimasa National Liberation Army, with a hand gun and ammunition from Kherbari village located within the general area of Dhansiri police outpost today.
He has been identified as Betsing Jidung (24), alias Master alias John Dimasa Jidung. One 9 mm pistol, one magazine and three rounds of live ammunition were recovered from his possession.
According to police sources, the accused is a resident of Daudokho Samnala under Diphu police station. Betsing Jidung was a cadre of UPLA (United Peoples Liberation Army) militant group earlier. Later, he surrendered in 2016 but, he yet again joined the DNLA outfit in January 2019, police sources informed.
