Half-yearly conference of Ramkrishna Mission held

GAURIPUR, May 29 - The 37th half-yearly conference of the northern area of Ramkrishna Bibekananda Bhav Prachar Parishad was held on the premises of Ramkrishna-Sarada Sangha premises, Gauripur with a two day programme on May 25 and 26 last.

On the first day of the conference, Shrimatswami Purnabrahmanandaji Maharaj, chief of the Coochbehar Ramkrishna Math hoisted the flag of the Parishad and opened the conference. Subal Chandra Dey, president of the Gauripur Mission read out his welcome address. The workshop on the report of the coordinators and the delegates was participated by a host of chiefs of the Mission of the northern area. A big procession was also brought out. The religious discourse held in the evening was addressed by the chiefs of the Missions of Coochbehar, Maldah, Jalpaiguri and Belurmoth. A cultural evening was also organised.

On the second day after paying obeisance to Ramkrishna, Swami Bibekananda and Ma Sarada discussion on the decisions of the last conference were held. Remarks and suggestions were put by Swami Jagnadharanandaji Maharaj of Belur Math. In the second session, discussion on the formation of youth parishad and measures to make it reality was held. The coordinators of the affiliated mission submitted their reports and discussion was held on the reports. A symposium on the role and responsibilities in managing missions was held and was participated by the chiefs of the ashrams of the northern area. The conference was attended by more than a 100 delegates coming from the affiliated missions of the parishad.
