GUWAHATI, April 11 - A hailstorm that caught pedestrians and commuters unawares lashed Guwahati and adjoining areas around 7.15 pm today.
People were seen running for cover even as vehicular traffic came to a standstill in a number of locations. The storm also resulted in power cuts in a number of areas in Guwahati.
The hailstorm, however, lasted only a few minutes.
�As the vehicular traffic was comparatively less today, there was no major traffic-related problem reported. We are gathering reports and trying to assess the situation,� a senior police official said.
