IMPHAL, April 23 - At least 160 houses were damaged by a heavy hailstorm that hit Manipur�s Churachandpur district today around 5 am.
No human casualties were reported in the hailstorm which wreaked havoc in many villages under Henglep subdivision, reports said.
The hail damaged 160 houses at Santing, Maomual, Saichang and K Zoar villages in Henglep. Roofs of many houses in different parts of the State were also blown off by the massive hailstorm. Besides, the hail destroyed standing crops over a vast area of land.
The district administration have sent officials to the devastated area to take stock of the situation.
