By CORRESPONDENT

KOKRAJHAR, Nov 16 Hagrama Mohilary today reiterated that the Bodoland Statehood demand would be intensified if the Central Government came up with the creation of Telangana as a separate State out of Andhra Pradesh.

He also pointed out that certain Bodo organisations like ABSU and NDFB (P), which are now highlighting the separate Statehood demand, are only raising a long-pending demand of the Bodo community. We all make the demand from time to time and the BNC has not been created only to demand a separate State but also to ensure peace, unity and progress of the entire society.

He informed that on November 18 and 19, the annual convention of the BNC would be held at Udalguri in which the stand of all the constituent organisations under it would be seriously taken into account to chalk out the future course of action of this umbrella body.

Mohilary today inaugurated the 11th Bodoland Book Fair at the Govt Hs & MP School playground here in the presence of a huge gathering including dignitaries and book lovers. A large number of book publishers and sellers from within and outside the State are taking part in the book fair which will conclude on November 30.

The BTC government has declared a local holiday in the BTC area on the Bodo Thunglai Day today as November 16 is the foundation day of the Bodo Sahitya Sabha (BSS). BSS sources informed that the day was observed throughout the State.
