Hagrama campaigns at Udalguri

UDALGURI, March 27 - As part of his campaigning schedule in the BTC region, BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary on Saturday addressed an election rally here at Kachubil under Udalguri LAC and appealed to the people to support the BPF for overall development and peace in the region.

He assured the voters of Udalguri LAC saying that their standard of living would be improved by implementing various developmental projects. He reiterated that only the BPF can give the public of BTC peace, prosperity and development.

Referring to the deal with the Union Government, Mohilary said that the coalition of BJP, BPF and AGP is going to form the Government in the State.

The meeting chaired by Bonjar Daimari, executive member of BTC, was also addressed by Rihon Daimari, the sitting MLA for last three terms in Udalguri LAC. In his speech, Daimari showed his growth card in terms of development in the region and hoped that people would understand his way of work for overall development.

Mohilary addressed other two election rallies of the BPF at Murmela and Bengbari under Udalguri LAC.

Case lodged against BPF: In a significant development with the Assembly elections nearing, Purna Daimari, chief convenor of the election steering committee of 69-Udalguri LAC for Independent candidate, Anjali Prabha Daimari, said in a press release on Saturday that a complaint of violation of the code of conduct by the Bodoland Peoples� Front (BPF) in Udalguri LAC has been lodged.

The press release alleged that the complaint was lodged on March 18 last with the vigilance cell of the assembly elections along with a CD proof. The press release further put allegations of �records of criminal charges for mass corruption in IAY houses, cheating the public against which a case (No.62/2016, u/s 120(B) 409/420 IPC) was also registered at the Udalguri police station.
