Hagrama calls for end to killings, abductions

KALAIGAON, April 30 � BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary has called for an immediate end to killings, abductions and extortions in BTAD.

Attending the inaugural ceremony of an SBI branch and a Bodoland Guest House at subdivisional headquarter Bhergaon today, Mohilary said that anti-social activities by a section of people of Bodoland had been posing serious threat to normal life in BTAD.

Speaking as the chief guest, he also said that the BTC authority had been doing its best for a prosperous Bodoland. On the occasion he declared that an amount of Rs 250 crore would be utilised for establishment of a bamboo industry, a model marketing shed and a model fishery in all the four districts of BTAD.

Salil Saran, general manager SBI NE Head Office, attending the ceremony as a distinguished guest, said that the new branch at Bhergaon had been set up as per latest standard and techniques. VP Tiwari, AGM (RV) SBI drew appreciation of the people as he spoke in Bodo language.

The inaugural ceremony was also addressed by Lwmsrao Daimari, EM BTC and Biswajit Daimari, MP (Rajya Sabha).

The new Bodoland Guest House has been constructed at an amount of Rs 45 lakh. Moreover, the BTC chief also laid the foundation stone of two dilapidated roads.
