BOKAKHAT, Feb 21 � Guwahati trail by 87 runs against Silchar at the end of day one of the finals of the RG Baruah U-17 cricket tournament at the Bokakhat Sports Complex here today.
Winning the toss, Silchar decided to bat first and put up 146 runs on the board in 69.5 overs. It was Romario Sarmah who wrecked Silchar�s batting line-up taking 5 wickets for 36 runs in 22 overs. For Silchar, Harsa Das (46) and Kaushik Giri (31) were the only batsmen to put up a fight. Amit Barua and Harpreet Singh of Guwahati also took 2 wickets each.
In reply, Guwahati at the end of days play were 59 for 5 in 26 overs. Romario Sarmah (15) and Ranjit Changmai (13) were at the crease when bails were put down. Rahul Singh of Silchar took 3 wickets while Kaushik Giri took one wicket.
