Guwahati outclass Udalguri to lift Umananda Bora trophy

GUWAHATI, May 21 - Guwahati clinched the Umananda Bora Memorial U-13 Inter District Cricket Tournament title with a thumping 92-run victory against Udalguri. In the final played at the ACA Stadium in Barsapara here today, being asked to bat first, Guwahati gathered a decent total of 152 for four in their stipulated 25 overs. The highlight of the Guwahati innings was a 58-ball 53 by Shreyanss Surana which included eight hits to the fence.

In reply, the Udalguri batsmen failed miserably to chase the tough target and were bundld out for 60 in 20.2 overs. Excluding one, none of the Udalguri batsman could reach the double figure mark as Harshit Pratim Das and Rangajyoti Khargharia wrecked their innings by picking up four and three wickets respectively.

Shreyanss was adjudged the man-of-the-match while Abhishek Deb of Silchar, who scored the only century of the meet was named man-of-the-series.

Individual prize-winners: (Best Baatsman) Nishanta Das of Barpeta, (Best Bowler) Rangajyoti Khargharia of Guwahati, (Best Fielder) Diwiz Pathak of Guwahati.
