GUWAHATI, March 4 � Host Guwahati handed Kokrajhar a 6-0 drubbing in the second semifinal of the Khirod Baruah Trophy Senior Inter District Football Championship.
Like yesterday, today also saw a one-sided match at the Indira Gandhi Stadium Sarusajai here as title contender Guwahati took control of the situation from the word go. They went 2-0 ahead in the eighth minute when Apurba Phukan and Shyam Mura netted one each in the fourth and eighth minutes respectively. After that, the Kokrajhar boys were at the receiving end as Guwahati strikers started scoring at regular intervals.
Apurba added two more in the 30th and 70th minutes while Nitu Narzary (23rd minute) and Monikanta Brahma (77th minute) were the other strikers.
Now in the final on Sunday, Guwahati will lock horns with Dibrugarh.
