Guwahati dominate inter district tennis

GUWAHATI, April 22 - Guwahati annexed three titles in the 26th All Assam Inter District Tennis Championship which concluded at the All Assam Tennis Association complex, Chachal here today.

Guwahati won girls U-14, U-18 and boys U-14 titles while Jorhat clinched the boys U-18 crown. NF Railway�s men team emerged champions defeating Guwahati.

In a glittering closing function former Assam junior tennis champion Gopal Dutta gave away the prizes.

The tournament was organised by the North East Tennis Foundation.

Final results: (Girls U-14) Guwhati bt NF Railway 2-0 (Tanishqa Patar bt Anwesha Rabha 6-3, 6-3, Kalpita Rajkhowa bt Navroz Razdan 6-0, 6-7(2), 6-0. (Boys U-14) Guwahati A bt Golaghat B 2-0 (Anchit Gogoi bt Debanga P Hazarika 6-1, 6-0, Arunesh Borah bt Tushar Paul 4-6, 6-3, 6-2. (Girls U-18) Guwahati A bt Guwahati B 2-0 (Raina Zaffar bt Breshna Khan 6-0, 6-1, Lenien Jamir bt Eva Raj Sah 6-2, 6-2.
