Guwahati chess championship concludes

GUWAHATI, Oct 16 - Guwahati Chess Championship (Junior, Women and Veteran) organised by Guwahati Chess Association at South Point School from October 13 concluded here today.

Top four players from each category has been selected to represent Guwahati in the forthcoming All Assam Chess Championship. The tournament was conducted by Arun Singh as chief arbiter and was assisted by Pranab Kumar Nath, Th Bipin Singh, Chiraranjan Bhuyan, Moni-mala Sinha, Jubin Sultana as deputy arbiters, stated a press release.

Results:

U-7 (girls): 1. Afsheen Afsha Zaman (5 pts). U-7 (boys): 1. Mrinmoy Rjkhowa (4pts), 2. Farhan Tanvir (3 pts). U-9 (girls): 1. Baibhabi Baruah (5 pts), 2. Swarnika Biswas (1 pts). U-9 (boys): 1. Mayank Chakraborty (5 pts), 2. Attri Nibir Borah (5 pts) on the basis of tie-break. U-11 (girls): 1. Ananya Deka (2 pts), 2. Subhangi Bhuyan. U-11 (boys): 1. Novoneel Talukdar (5 pts), 2. Pran Gobinda Parashar Kashyap (5 pts) on the basis of tie-break. U-13 (girls):
