GUWAHATI, Oct 15 - Uddipta Kakati is in sole lead in U-17 (boys) in the South Point School Guwahati Chess Championship. Pallab Bhattacharjee is in second position with 2.5 points. In U-15 (boys), four players Maharnab Deka, Aarohan Bharadwaj, Arunabh Gohain and Dhrubajyoti Deka shares the lead with 3 points each after completion of fourth round. In U-15 (girls), Himashree Deka leads the table with 1.5 points and Upashna Thengjam holds the second spot with 1 point. In U-13 (boys), Gunjan Basistha, Debaprita Roy and Rishabh Singh shares the lead with 4 points each after completion of the fifth round. In U-13 (girls), Rishita Sinha is in sole lead with 3 points after four rounds. In U-11, Nihad Islam Hazarika and Pran Gobinda Parashar Kashyap are leading with 3.5 points each. In U- 9, Baibhabi Baruah is in sole lead with 4 points from four rounds. Afsheen Afsha Zaman is leading the U-7 with 4 points after completion of the fourth round.

Top four players from each group will be selected to represent Guwahati in forthcoming All Assam Chess Championship. The final rounds will be played tomorrow and prize distribution ceremony will be held tomorrow at South Point School Auditorium at 3 pm.
