Guwahati champs in TG Baruah Karate Cup

GUWAHATI, March 24 � Guwahati emerged top in the United Karate-Do Association, Assam (UKAA) organised 3rd RG Baruah Cup Youth, Veteran and U-21 State Karate Championship which concluded at the TR Phookan Indoor Stadium here last evening. Guwahati won 20 gold, 20 silver and 17 bronze medals. Jorhat became second with 9 gold, 10 silver and 12 bronze medals. Dibrugarh was the third team in the table winning 9 gold, 6 silver and 21 bronze medals. Nishad Ali of Barpeta (boys 10 to 13 years), Enzebi Chakma of Guwahati (girls 10 to 13 years), Priyanuj Bora of Jorhat (boys 14 to 17 years), Chandni Jain of Guwahati (girls 14 to 17 years), Uday Kumar Shah of Guwahati (veterans) were adjudged best karatekas in the meet.

The gold medal winners are: (Children 10 to 13 years) Kaushik Nath, Limba Hazarika, Dikshit Priyam Parasar, Jyotishman Kashyap, Himalay Rajkhowa, Nishanta Chamua, Bikash Rahang, Nishad Ali, Chanakya Borgohain, Dhrubajyoti Talukdar, Kamal Krishna Hazarika, Puja Pandey, Runa Devi, Ananya Chutia, Enzebi Chakma, Sumi Devi, Manika Ganju. (Cadet 14-15 years) Priyam Nakumya, Ramanuj Bora, Babin Limbu, Ujjal Dutta, Madhab Tripathy, Janki Devi, Chandni Jain, Dipanjali Baishnab. (Junior 16-17 years) Priyanuj Bora, Nayanjyoti Nath, Dipankar Das, Sudarshan Rai, Gitashree Hadsa, Jyotishmita Gogoi.
