PATACHARKUCHI, Nov 4 - Governor Banwarilal Purohit will visit Patacharkuchi tomorrow to attend the fifth death anniversary programme of Dr Bhupen Hazarika.
In this regard, the Deputy Commissioner of Barpeta district, Thaneswar Malakar along with the Superintendent of Police Siladitya Chetia held a meeting at the Patacharkuchi Inspection bungalow on Thursday evening to review the preparation work to welcome the Governor. The meeting was attended by various departmental heads like PWD, Electrical, Public Health, Fire brigade, Panchayat, Town committee�s representatives including the heads and members of the celebration committee. Malakar spoke and informed about the duties entrusted to various administrative officials and departmental heads to ensure the smooth conduct of the programme. The meeting was attended by SDO (C) Bajali, S. Deka. The departmental heads informed their developments regarding the programme and expressed their willingness to cooperate for smooth conduct of the programme. The celebration committee�s president, Munindra Narayan Goswami also spoke and explained the progress of the preparation work.
The celebration began here with a three-day programme from Thursday. The flag of the celebration was hoisted by Munindra Narayan Goswami and a Swachha Bharat Abhiyan programme conducted. In the evening, quiz, recitation and lecture programme was held.
