ITANAGAR, April 6 � Inter-State boundary, police modernisation, border areas development, etc., figured prominently in their discussions when Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju called on the Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt Gen Nirbhay Sharma (Retd) at Raj Bhawan here yesterday.

The Governor requested Rijiju for adequate fund to enhance professionalism amongst the police personnel including enhancing security infrastructure, proper management of constabulary and training. Referring to the recent unfortunate incident in Tirap district in which three Army personnel lost their lives, the Governor emphasised on better coordination and synergy amongst the security agencies. Stressing on developing mechanism for upgradation of intelligence gathering and sharing, the Governor called upon the Union Minister for strengthening the existing mechanism.
