Guv addresses new Tripura House

AGARTALA, March 23 - Tripura Governor Tathagata Roy, in his opening address to the newly-elected 12th State Assembly today, outlined the basic policy framework and priorities of the new BJP-IPFT Government.

After the election to the post of the Speaker as scheduled, the Governor delivered his hourlong speech during which he voiced his approval of the State Government�s initiative to upgrade pay, allowances and pension of State Government employees and retired employees.

Roy also welcomed the decision of the Cabinet to appoint an expert committee to examine the requirement of funds for implementing the recommendations of the 7th Central Pay Commission. �The Government will at the same time make efforts to improve the work culture of the employees,� the Governor said.

He said the Government would make all-out efforts to develop Tripura as the logistics hub of the entire NE Region.
