Guardians to test food quality before being served to wards!

By Correspondent

UDALGURI, Nov 3 - Guardians are to test the food quality to be supplied by the assigned NGOs in Udalguri district.

This was informed by a worried guardian of two children who are students of a lower primary school near Udalguri town.

Worried over the food quality provided by a section of NGOs, which is being telecast in the local electronic media, the guardian said that many of them have decided to test the food quality every day before it was served to the innocent children.

Declining to divulge his name, the guardian said, Akshay Patra is no doubt an excellent idea to minimise the burden of teachers and cooks, but if it serves poor quality food to our children, we wouldnt sit idle.

When asked about the future plan of dealing with the mid-day meal scheme, the guardian firmly said that the persons engaged in supplying the mid-day meal to the children will have to eat the food they served before it was given to the children. Only after half-an-hour, the children would be allowed to have their meal.

We are never against any government initiative and persons concerned, but we demand quality service as it was done by the mid-day meal workers and teachers, he added. He also appealed to the government to make this idea mandatory to all the newly-recruited NGOs to ascertain the best mid-day meal service.

It may be pertinent to mention here that the Education Department of the State government has recently recruited a good number of NGOs of the State for the mid-day meal service in order to relieve the engaged teachers from this cumbersome burden.
