TEZPUR, June 14 � Gauhati University will declare the 6th semester result on July 7, informed Dr Deba Hari Talukdar, Deputy Controller of Examination, GU after inspecting Darrang College here on Friday.
While interacting with this correspondent, he said that the first batch of the semester system in the degree course of GU has been appearing in the final (6th) semester examination. �The university has geared up to declare result to benefit the students.� He said that the university does not want to deprive the students and added that the examination branch staff of GU, including the Vice Chancellor visited the colleges and the zones to declare the result during the stipulated time. He also added that the university has been getting cooperation from the teachers as well as the zonal officers.
It may be mentioned that the Gauhati University takes near about three months after the examination to declare the results in the earlier degree course semester examinations while the Delhi University declares its semester result of degree course after 15 days of the examination.
Regarding the grading system of the semester of degree course under GU, he informed that the university would provide a clear grading system in the 6th semester marksheet. Meanwhile, the students of the degree course semester system obtained the marksheet with a grading system where no conversion calculations were specified. The Deputy Controller of Examinations of Gauhati University, Dr Deba Hari Talukdar and Dr Pranab Kumar Das during their visit met the principal Dr Joy Sankar Hazarika and the teaching staff of Darrang College.
