GU team leaving for pre-R Day parade camp at Bhubaneswar today

GUWAHATI, Nov 20 - A Gauhati University NSS team is leaving for Bhubaneswar tomorrow (November 21) for participating in the pre-Republic Day parade camp to be held at Siksha �O� Anusandhan University from November 22-December 1, 2020. The camp is sponsored by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, a press release issued here stated.

The team selected from different affiliated NSS units under Gauhati University NSS Cell comprises Saijish Ali, Sourav Das, Debasis Kalita, Rita Gowala, Merrin Goswami, Sushmita Sarkar, Spaini Barman, Subhankar Dey, Deepjyoti Sarma, Chandana Bora, Ujjal Saikia, Ujjal Bora, Niha Boro, Puja Chetry, Sonamajnaw Rabha and Nishaita Medhi. The Assam contingent will be led by Dr Satyabrata Baruah, NSS Programme Officer, B Barooah College, Guwahati.

Meanwhile, Prof Pratap Jyoti Handique, Vice Chancellor, GU has offered his best wishes to all the volunteers so that they can shine at the national level and bring glory to the prestigious university. Dr HK Nath, Registrar, GU, Prof Dilip Borah, secretary, University Classes, GU, Dharma Kanta Milli, Director, Sports & Youth Welfare, Assam, Dipak Kumar, Regional Director, NSS, NER, Guwahati , Dr Ranjan Kr Kakati, Director, Students� Welfare, GU and programme coordinator, NSS have also offered their best wishes to the whole team.

The release added that successful volunteers from this camp will get a chance to participate in the Republic Day parade camp to be held at New Delhi from January 1-31 next year.
