GU honorary doctorate

JALUKBARI, April 20 - The Executive Council of Gauhati University at its special meeting held today resolved to confer honorary doctorate degrees on a number of well-known personalities at the 26th convocation of the university to be held on April 28.

Those to be honoured are, Prof CNR Rao, renowned scientist and Bharat Ratna awardee; Nilamoni Phukan, litterateur; Hem Chandra Goswami, mask artiste; Col Jiten Hazarika, artist and painter; Nabam Tata, social activist, lyricist and film maker from Arunachal Pradesh and Tasile N Zeliang, social activist and sports personality from Nagaland.
