GU, Cotton postpone exams for NESO bandh

GUWAHATI, Dec 9 - In view of the 11-hour North East bandh called by the North East Students� Organisation (NESO) against the Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB) tomorrow, the Gauhati University and the Cotton University have postponed their examinations scheduled for the day to avoid any unwarranted situation.

The Controller of Examination, Gauhati University vide a notification, stated that all examinations of first semester, third semester and fifth semester of undergraduate courses are rescheduled for December 19. The time for the examination for each paper will remain the same as previously scheduled. All officers-in charge/principals should use the confidential packets allotted for December 10 on the rescheduled date and time, the notification said.

Meanwhile, the Controller of Examination, Cotton University vide a notification, stated that due to unavoidable circumstances, the UG 3rd end semester examination-2019 and HS 2nd year pre-final examination have been rescheduled for Thursday. The Chemistry, Philosophy, Statistics and Anthropology papers of UG 3rd semester have been rescheduled for 1 pm on Thursday, while the Logic and Philosophy papers of HS 2nd Year Pre-final Examination have been rescheduled for 9 am and Mathematics and History papers have been rescheduled for 1 pm on Thursday.

Moreover, many private schools will remain closed tomorrow in view of the bandh. The final examinations of some schools have also been postponed.
