GU community gesture to the violence-hit

GUWAHATI, Jan 13 � A representative team of the Gauhati University Community comprising the Vice-Chancellor, the Rector, the President and the General Secretary, GUTA and some executive committee members of GUTA met the Deputy Commissioner of Sonitpur district recently and handed over a cheque of Rupees four lakh fifty thousand as aid towards rehabilitation of the victims of the recent attacks by extremists. The amount was collected from the teachers, officers, employees and the authority of Gauhati University.

The members of the team also took stock of the latest situation of the relief camps of Sonitpur district from the Deputy Commissioner Lalit Gogoi and others, official sources said.
