GUWAHATI, April 29 - GTC Rhinos clinched the U-7 age category title in the Greater Guwahati Baby League (GGBL).
In their 14th match of the championship yesterday at the Nehru Stadium here, GTC Rhinos defeated APRO Pythons 3-0 to confirm their title with one game in hand. The championship has been organised by the Sportscraft Management and Guwahati City FC (GCFC) with support from Assam Football Association as well as All India Football Federation.
Rhinos secured 37 points to take an unassailable 7 point lead over second placed Tholua Panthers. Rhinos striker Ishan Saikia emerged as the top scorer with 64 goals in 13 matches. Meanwhile in the U-9 category, GYSFCC Dragons, Dispur Lions, NFRSA Cheetahs and Rainbow FC remain in the hunt to claim the title. The champions will be decided in the last match day next week, stated a press release by GCFC.
