GTC down Sivasagar outfit

GUWAHATI, Jan 21 � Host Gauhati Town Club prevailed over Phoenix Club of Sivasagar by 33 runs in a group league match of the Ramesh Baruah Trophy Cricket Tournament here at the Judges� Field today.

Batting first the local team scored 174 for the loss of seven wickets in 30 with Ram Kripal Gupta being the top scorer with 44, Naba Kalita contributed 33 while Nitin Das added 32.

Chasing the modest total, the Sivasagar boys were bundled out for 141 in 27 overs. Bharat Newar top scored with 40 while Utpal Saikia contributed 35. Man-of-the-match Rupam Mishra wrecked the Phoneix innings claiming six wickets.
