GUWAHATI, Jan 12 � The Gauhati Town Club (GTC) Chess Grand Prix 2015 is all set to begin with the 1st edition scheduled on January 18. As per the Grand Prix format a total of 12 tournaments will be played over 12 months of the year after completion of which the players with the highest points will be crowned the Grand Prix 2015 champion.
This year the tournament will be held in the age category of Under 7,9, 19 and open.
The tournament, to be played under rapid time control is open to all and number of participants is limited to 100 players. Altogether seven rounds will be played in this day-long tournament with prizes for the top 10 and certificate to all participants. Interested players may contact the organisers at the GTC premises for registration, stated a release.
