GUWAHATI, Sept 22 � Gauhati Town Club (GTC) clinched the title in the United Brothers Veteran Football Tournament defeating Reserve Bank of India (RBI) by an aggregate of 7-5 goals in tiebreaker in the final played at the Judges� Field here last evening. The match was locked 2-2 in regulation time.

The league-cum-knock out tournament was organised by the United Brothers Club where eight teams took part. The champion team was awarded Rs 50,000 while the runners-up team became richer by Rs 30,000.

In the prize distribution function, Arjuna awardee Bhgoswar Barua, former international footballer Gilbertson Sangma, former Santosh Trophy player Adhir Roy were honoured by the organisers.

North East United FC co-owners Sanjib Narayan, Larsing Ming, journalist Subodh Malla Baruah, ADC Rajib Prakash Baruah and SAI city centre director incharge Subhash Basumatary were present as guests in the closing function.
